#RunChatHunt 2020: The holiday edition!

One of the long-standing traditions of #RunChat is our scavenger hunt, better known across social media as #RunChatHunt. (If you’re new to #RunChat, you may have seen the summer edition of #RunChatHunt this past July as we once again made it a twice-a-year event after taking off in summer 2019.)

#RunChatHunt is so simple to join — we have a list of 10 items for you to find while running, you tweet photos of them (1 pic = 1 entry, so avoid photo collages), and just like that you’re entered to win some awesome prizes. All the information you need to know to take part is below!

The Items to Find:

Through our nomination and voting process, these are the top 10 items for you to find. In order of most popular to least, here’s what to be on the lookout for through Jan. 1:

  • Inflatable Christmas decor

  • Holiday lights

  • Delivery vehicle (UPS, FedEx, Amazon, etc.)

  • Live animal

  • Sunrise or sunset

  • Body of water

  • Bridge

  • Local (non-chain) restaurant or brewery

  • Masked holiday decoration

  • Something of historical importance locally

The Rules:

Rule No. 1 … HAVE FUN! This is meant to be a stress-free, take-your-mind-off-current-events type of event.

Creativity counts. If you're having trouble finding an item, please know that each individual thing doesn't have to be so literal. We've had some amazing creative entries over the years. Keep it fun, relaxed and entertaining to you and your Twitter followers.

Each item to find counts as ONE entry. So if you post a collage of items, sorry, it's only one entry. Post each item separately so you can have up to 10 entries for the prizes.

#RunChatHunt starts as soon as this post is live and continues through 11:59 p.m. ET Jan. 1, 2021.

Winners will be announced during the first weekend of 2021.

Please note: We may use your photos that have the #RunChatHunt tag on other social media posts or future scavenger hunt events. We'll give you photo credit as much as we can.

COVID-19 Precautions:

We ask that you follow all local guidelines in place. If, for example, an area is closed, don't sneak into that area for a pic. Avoid areas and photos with large groups of people.

Also, if you're not able to get out for new photos for any reason, that is OK for this version of #RunChatHunt. If you want to submit old photos from previous runs, those will be eligible to win prizes.
