#RunChatHunt 2022: The mid-year scavenger hunt

Our bi-annual scavenger hunt - better known as #RunChatHunt - is back! For this installment, we’re kicking things off on Global Running Day - June 1 - and continuing through July 2.

This version includes 12 items for you to find and then tweet about - or post to Instagram. Why 12? Well, this month also marks the 12th anniversary of #RunChat … so why not 12?!?

ITEMS TO FIND

Recently, the #RunChat community voted on the items to find. Below are those top 12 items in order of receiving votes:

  1. Animals (of any kind!)

  2. Body of water

  3. Mural or graffiti

  4. Flowers

  5. Sunrise or sunset

  6. Antique vehicle

  7. Rocks

  8. Trail (non-paved)

  9. Smiling selfie (aka proof you love running!)

  10. Unique mailbox

  11. Construction site

  12. Weird-to-you things

We’ll post this list across social media and in stories in various forms/sizes throughout the event.

THE RULES

Rule No. 1 … HAVE FUN! This is meant to be a stress-free, take-your-mind-off-current-events type of event.

Creativity counts. If you're having trouble finding an item, please know that each individual thing doesn't have to be so literal. We've had some amazing creative entries over the years. Keep it fun, relaxed and entertaining to you and your followers.

Each item to find counts as ONE entry. So if you post a collage of items, sorry, it's only one entry. Post each item separately so you can have up to 12 entries for the prizes. Avoid posting a photo and saying it has two items in it. For example, a mailbox can easily have flowers too, but post about them separately.

#RunChatHunt starts as soon as this post is live (technically 9:30 p.m. May 31) and continues through 11:59 p.m. ET Saturday, July 2. Winners will be announced just after the #RunChat hour on Sunday, July 3 around 9 p.m. ET.

Photos must be new. We’re going by the honor system here, but please try not to sneak any archived pics in as entries for this version of #RunChatHunt.

Please note: We may use your photos that have the #RunChatHunt tag on other social media posts or future scavenger hunt events. We'll give you photo credit as much as we can.

NEW: TWITTER AND INSTAGRAM

Want more chances to win? Post your pics to both Twitter and Instagram to double up your entries. Each post MUST be a separate entry on the platforms (meaning no auto posting from IG to Twitter or some kind of auto posting through a third party).

When posting to Instagram, you MUST tag @therunchat account to be entered. (That is not required on Twitter.)

For both platforms, you MUST use the #RunChatHunt tag to be entered.
