2023 Year-End Holiday #RunChatHunt is here
Our year-end scavenger hunt - known as #RunChatHunt - is back once again this holiday season!
For this installment, entries will be open from 12:01 a.m. ET Friday, Dec. 1 through 11:59 p.m. ET Sunday, Dec. 31. All winners will be announced the week of Jan. 1, 2024.
HOW #RUNCHATHUNT WORKS
We have our list of items to find farther down in this post. Your mission: Find those items on your run, take photos of those items, and post them to your social media profiles. With each photo, you’re entered to win prizes on certain platforms. We’ll break this down with some additional FAQs we’ve had over the years.
Prizes will be drawn from entries on X and Instagram. We can’t quite have a giveaway on Threads just yet, but add to the fun and post there too!
Can I post to X or Instagram more than one photo with multiple items?
Technically yes, but you’re limiting yourself to the number of entries. One photo = one item = one entry. We have 12 items on our list. 12 photos = 12 entries on X. If you combine your entries, you get fewer entries. A collage of 5 photos for 5 items = 1 entry. Why? Because it’s one post
The same rules will apply to Instagram, which will be detailed more below.
⚠️ REQUIREMENT: You must tag @therunchat on X as well as using the #RunChatHunt tag in your entries.
Can I enter an item more than twice?
No. If you post a photo of Santa to X, don’t try to find another Santa or a better display and have that count as your entry. It’s really confusing to do that.
However, since we will have separate prizes for Instagram, you can post that same photo (or a different photo of a Santa) to that platform for separate entries there. (So yes, you can technically get 24 entries if you’re on both platforms.)
Can I use old photos?
No. Please create new memories with new photos.
“Does this count?”
While that’s pretty generic, we get that pretty often. If you have to ask if it counts, you’re going to get a “yes” reply. If it’s close to the item or you’ve used some kind of creativity to get that item, then yes, you’re good to go.
Instagram Details
Instagram has totally separate prizes, so you can post the same (or different) photos to both Instagram and Twitter. So technically, you can enter 12 times on this platform AND 12 times on Twitter.
⚠️ REQUIREMENT: You MUST tag @therunchat and use the #RunChatHunt tag on your posts for Instagram.
Can I win more than one prize?
You are eligible to win one prize on X and one prize on Instagram.

THE RULES
There is some repetition here from our FAQs section above. Also, please note: As we all know, there’s a lot of wild things happening on all social media profiles right now right now. If there are drastic changes that impact this contest, we reserve the right to revoke all of these guidelines and move #RunChatHunt prizes elsewhere at any time.
Rule No. 1 … HAVE FUN! This is meant to be a stress-free, take-your-mind-off-current-events type of event.
Creativity counts. If you're having trouble finding an item, please know that each individual thing doesn't have to be so literal. We've had some amazing creative entries over the years. Keep it fun, relaxed and entertaining to you and your Twitter followers.
Each item to find counts as ONE entry per platform (12 on X, 12 on Instagram). So if you post a collage of items, sorry, it's only one entry. Post each item separately so you can have up to 12 entries on each platform for the prizes. Posts on Threads are purely for fun and highly encouraged, but will not be eligible for prizes at this time.
Your posts on any platform MUST tag @therunchat and contain the hashtag #RunChatHunt even if you’re replying to @therunchat tweets with photos.
#RunChatHunt is open from 12:01 a.m. Friday, Dec. 1, 2023, through 11:59 p.m. ET Sunday, Dec. 31, 2023. Reposts, liking of posts and adding posts to stories do not increase your chances of winning.
Please note: We may use your photos that have the #RunChatHunt tag on other social media posts or future scavenger hunt events. We'll give you photo credit as much as we can.
