Celebrating 13 years of #RunChat: ROAD iD sponsors #RunChatHunt
As #RunChat becomes a teenager in June, we’re celebrating with one more round of our popular scavenger hunt, better known as #RunChatHunt!
The version of #RunChatHunt will feature 13 items to find to help celebrate 13 years of #RunChat. We’re also excited to have ROAD iD, a longtime sponsor of #RunChat, sponsoring this edition of #RunChatHunt.
We’ll have 6 $50 ROAD iD gift cards up for grabs, but more on that below.
Most importantly, here are the items to find (see below for when #RunChatHunt starts):
Body of water
Sunrise or Sunset
Mural
Sneaker selfie (aka your shoes)
Flowers
Fire hydrant
Bridge
The Number 13
Local business (book store, coffee shop, brewery, etc.)
Flags
Train and/or Railroad crossing
Cemetery
Cat
⏰️ TIMING OF #RUNCHATHUNT
For this installment, entries will be open from 12:01 a.m. ET Monday, May 29 through 11:59 p.m. ET Tuesday, July 4. All winners will be announced later that week. Any entries before this time will not count.
🤨 how #runchathunt works
Your mission: Find the items above on your run and tweet photos of those items and/or post them to Instagram. With each photo, you’re entered to win prizes - 3 ROAD iD prizes will be drawn randomly from Twitter and 3 on Instagram. We’ll break this down with some additional FAQs we’ve had over the years.
Can I tweet or post to Instagram more than one photo with multiple items?
Technically yes, but you’re limiting yourself to the number of entries. One photo = one item = one entry. We have 13 items on our list. 13 photos = 13 entries on Twitter. If you combine your entries, you get fewer entries. A collage of 5 photos for 5 items = 1 entry. Why? Because it’s one tweet.
The same rules will apply to Instagram, which will be detailed more below.
⚠️ REQUIREMENT: You must tag @therunchat on Twitter as well as using the #RunChatHunt tag in your entries.
Can I enter an item more than twice?
No. If you tweet a bridge photo, don’t try to find another bridge and have that count as your entry. It’s really confusing to do that.
However, since we will have separate drawings for prizes on Instagram, you can post that same photo to that platform for separate entries there.
Can I use old photos?
No. Please create new memories with new photos.
“Does this count?”
While that’s pretty generic, we get that pretty often. If you have to ask if it counts, you’re going to get a “yes” reply. If it’s close to the item or you’ve used some kind of creativity to get that item, then yes, you’re good to go.
Can I post to Instagram?
Yes … and for this installment once again, Instagram has totally separate prizes, so you can post the same photos to both Instagram and Twitter. So technically, you can enter 13 times on this platform AND 13 times on Twitter.
⚠️ REQUIREMENT: You MUST tag @therunchat and use the #RunChatHunt tag on your posts for Instagram.
Can I win more than one prize?
You are eligible to win one prize on Twitter and one prize on Instagram.
🗒 THE RULES
There is some repetition here from our FAQs section above. Also, please note: As we all know, there’s a lot of wild things happening on Twitter right now. If there are drastic changes that impact this contest, we reserve the right to revoke all of these guidelines and move #RunChatHunt elsewhere.
Rule No. 1 … HAVE FUN! This is meant to be a stress-free, take-your-mind-off-current-events type of event.
Creativity counts. If you're having trouble finding an item, please know that each individual thing doesn't have to be so literal. We've had some amazing creative entries over the years. Keep it fun, relaxed and entertaining to you and your Twitter followers.
Each item to find counts as ONE entry per platform (13 on Twitter, 13 on Instagram). So if you post a collage of items, sorry, it's only one entry. Post each item separately so you can have up to 13 entries on each platform for the prizes. (Threading your tweets is perfectly fine!)
Your tweets and Instagram posts MUST tag @therunchat and contain the hashtag #RunChatHunt even if you’re replying to @therunchat tweets with photos.
#RunChatHunt is open from 12:01 a.m. ET Monday, May 29 through 11:59 p.m. ET Tuesday, July 4. Retweets and liking of tweets do not increase your chances of winning. Liking Instagram posts and posting them to stories is encouraged, but does not increase your chances of winning.
Please note: We may use your photos that have the #RunChatHunt tag on other social media posts or future scavenger hunt events. We'll give you photo credit as much as we can.
