Looking for a new challenge in 2025?

In 2025, we’ll be having various virtual challenges throughout the year. Most of these probably won’t have giveaways — they’ll be designed for you to connect with others wherever you are on social media and as a way to have fun.

To kick off the new year, we’re keeping it simple: We challenge you to try something new (or do something you haven’t done in a long, long time)! Think of as a way do push yourself to do something a little different as the year kicks off.

Between Jan. 1 and 31, try something (or several things) new on your run and then post about it on social media with the hashtag #runchatnew so we can easily find it and repost. If you’re on Instagram, add us a collaborator if you’d like so we can share it with more people!

Need some ideas? Here are a few things you could do new:

  • Trail running

  • Run in the evening instead of the morning (or vice versa)

  • Speed work

  • Hill repeats

  • Track workout

  • No music if you don’t run with music

  • Watchless run

  • Run a new route

  • Cross training counts too!
