Meet Altra's HIIT XT

We've had Altra Running as part of the #RunChat community for a few years now. We're excited to have them back this week -- 10 p.m. ET Sunday, Aug. 20 -- as they show off their newest shoe -- the HIIT XT. 

This shoe is designed for you to use when you're cross training:

"Since the beginning, Altra’s natural FootShape™ toe box and Zero Drop™ shoes have been a hit for CrossFit and strength training," Altra said in a news release. " Now Altra makes it official with its first ever cross-trainer shoe, the HIIT XT, perfect for high intensity interval training, hence the name."

The shoe, which retails for $99, "is Altra’s first purpose-built multi-sport shoe" and features a :wrap-around non-slip, non-marking sticky rubber outsole (that) increases grip, decreases sliding and enables side to side movement. The upper has a durable, yet breathable mesh to keep the foot supported and comfortable from the gym, to the court, to the road."

Altra also says: 

"The HIIT XT features a thick insole that decreases the stack height from 23mm to 17mm when removed.  The PowerSole™ configuration connects foot even closer to the ground on a firmer platform for heavy lifting. The shoe was also designed with a herringbone outsole and a high sidewall wrap on the medial side for rope climbing."
