Races impacted by COVID-19

As the world responds to the new coronavirus strain COVID-19, large gatherings are being prohibited in an effort to curb the illness.

In the past few weeks, it’s been well-noted that many high-profile races were canceled or postponed, or allowed only elite runners.

This week in the U.S., numerous races have been canceled or moved to later in the year. Some bigger events include the Boston Marathon possibly being moved to the fall and the Shamrock Marathon (and half marathon) in Virginia Beach being canceled.

If a race in your area has been impacted, please let us know on any of our Facebook or Twitter posts. We’ll be posting more and retweeting as many as we can to continue spreading the word.

We also know that the running community is a special place - in times of uncertainty, many of us can lift each other up and keep our spirits high.

This week we’re going to change things up for #RunChat and offer you both times (8 p.m. ET and 10 p.m. ET) to join together to spread some positivity and still have a ton of fun. The questions will be the same both hour so more people can join in (or feel free to join both times).
